This piece was premiered in Kansas City, University of Missouri-Kansas City, MO, Grant Recital Hall in March.13th, 2023 by Volker Brass Quintet.

Program Notes:

This piece depicts my state of mind and inner feelings when I came to the holy site of Larong in Seda, Sichuan Province, China during the winter and saw all kinds of sacred scenery.
In our lives, there are things to worry about, and there is prosperity to charm our eyes.
Inadvertently, our energy is hooked by the prosperity, the more we get addicted, the more we get intoxicated than we are, not knowing the way back.
With a tired heart, walking into the holy land of Larong in Serta.
Birds and animals are sleeping, snow-capped, falling snow, the red houses all over the mountains, the solemn sutra halls, the altar cities, the practitioners pursuing complete spiritual liberation...
Silence, a kind of power to resist disturbance, a kind of life practice.
At this moment, stop and listen to your own heart.
Once, when I heard the wind coming, I went to be a boy chasing the wind.
When I met a flower, I was intoxicated by the splendor of the flower.
When I saw raindrops, I leaned on the building and listened to the rain ......
The world's prosperity, suddenly found, there is nothing in the hands, the heart unknowingly has long been full of dust.
The winter wonderland allows people to calm their hearts and feelings. The face of prosperity is not disturbed. See-through, let go, free, quiet and indifferent, back to the basics, and the heart of the real settlement and freedom should be our efforts to pursue the realm of life!

 

作品简介:

此曲描写的是作者冬日来到中国四川色达喇荣圣地看到种种圣景时的心境
和内心感受。
尘世间，事事多烦忧，繁华迷人眼。
一个不经意间，就被繁华勾走了心神，愈渐沉迷，自此，便沉醉不知归路。
带着一颗疲惫的心，冬日走入圣地色达喇荣：
鸟兽入眠，白雪皑皑，落雪寂静，让人震撼满山遍野的红房子，庄严的经
堂，坛城，追求心灵圆满解脱的修行者…
此刻，停下来，聆听自心：
曾经，听见风来，就去做追风少年；
看见雨落，便倚楼听雨；
遇见花开，即沉醉于花的绚烂…
望尽世间繁华，恍然间突发现：手中并无一物，心上却不知不觉间早已落
满尘埃。
冬日的圣地让人内心沉静，感悟…面对繁华似锦不被其所牵所扰：看破、
放下、自在、宁静淡泊、返璞归真，心灵真正的安顿和自由才应该是我们
去努力追求的人生境界。
