I am a composer, pianist, and educator based in Kansas City, MO.  In my teaching, I am dedicated to developing students' comprehensive musical abilities and skills, not just limited to the theoretical, but more importantly the practical application of knowledge. I hope that through my courses, students will become more passionate about music, feel the richness of emotions that music brings to us, and stimulate their inner potential so that they can continue to grow on the road of music and realize their own ambitious goals!

As an undergraduate student at New England Conservatory, I have taught  Tonal Practice I keyboard harmony lab THYU207-Lab courses in both fall 2019 and spring 2020. I have been the Teaching Assistant for Tonal Practice levels I to III, Solfege course level 3 and level 4 from Fall 2019 to Spring 2022, and a theory elective course Music as Narrative during Spring 2022. My job consists of weekly 1-on-1 Q&A sessions with students, helping professors print out materials and prepare for class, grading students' assignments and some parts of midterm/final exams, and leading presentations/discussions in away rooms. Occasionally, I teach different topics as a lecturer by myself. You can view more teaching presentations at the links which include some online recorded video.

In addition to teaching at Conservatory, I teach one-on-one composition lessons, harmony lessons, counterpoint sections, music theory lessons, and solfege lessons privately to help more students improve. I usually teach online, so if you need help, you can contact me at: carl26@126.com
