Program Notes:

This piece is created for oboe, clarinet, viola, cello and piano. My inspiration comes from the famous Danish writer Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale“The Little Match Girl.”I describe the tragic story of the little girl through the melody ups and downs, changes in tempo and mood and various harmonic colors. In the prelude of this piece, I depict a cold winter, with no one on the street, only a little girl who is homeless and selling her own matches. With the musical changes of first section, I describe the desperation of the little girl when no one buys her matches. At the middle section of the piece, the little girl saw a glimmer of hope in the cold. She lit one match after another, and imagined she heard her mother are speaking to her. She thought she heard her grandmother calling her and telling her go home together. She saw a beautiful Christmas tree, and a big and warm home. But her match eventually went out in last presto section, where I describe the little girl fighting death and a strong desire to live. When the piece finally reaches the climax, the little girl died in a cold, miserable winter. On the last section of the piece, I imagine and hope that the little girl will go to heaven and let her be happy forever. I bring out the beauty and warmth of paradise through the change of harmonic.

 

In addition, to describing the tale story, I also hope that everyone in the world is not facing hunger, suffering, poverty that leads to innocent deaths. In the present world, most of people still exist as innocent as little girls, and for various reasons they have to leave their beautiful world. Should they leave, and be subject to this tragic experience? I hope not only the warmth of heaven will warm the little girl's body and shine on the heart, but I also hope that in every corner of our life, there will be matches that will always shine on us, warm us and light our lives bit by bit. I hope everyone in the world can get permanent happiness. In the future, our world will be without pain, everybody will have warmth, happiness and a colorful world!

     这首曲子是为双簧管、单簧管、中提琴、大提琴和钢琴而创作的。我的灵感来自丹麦著名作家安徒生的童话《卖火柴的小女孩》，通过旋律的起伏、节奏和情绪的变化以及各种和声色彩，描述了小女孩的悲惨故事。在乐曲的前奏部分，我描绘了一个寒冷的冬天，街上一个人也没有，只有一个无家可归的小女孩在卖自己的火柴。通过第一段的音乐变化，我描述了小女孩在没人买她的火柴时的绝望。在乐曲的中段，小女孩在寒冷中看到了一丝希望。她点燃了一根又一根火柴，幻想听到妈妈在对她说话。她仿佛听到外婆在呼唤她，告诉她一起回家。她看到了一棵美丽的圣诞树，一个宽敞温暖的家。但她的火柴最终还是熄灭了，在最后的前奏部分，我描述了小女孩与死神搏斗的情景和强烈的求生欲望。当乐曲最终达到高潮时，小女孩在一个寒冷、悲惨的冬天死去了。在乐曲的最后一段，我想象并希望小女孩能去天堂，让她永远快乐。我通过和声的变化，烘托出天堂的美好和温暖。

    在描述这个故事的同时，我也希望世界上的每一个人都不要再面对饥饿、苦难、贫穷，不要再无辜地死去。在当今世界，大多数人像故事里的小女孩一样天真无邪地存在着，却因为种种原因不得不离开自己美丽的世界。他们是否应该离开，是否应该承受这种悲惨的经历？我不仅希望天堂的温暖能够温暖小女孩的身体，照耀小女孩的心灵，更希望在我们生活的每一个角落都有火柴，永远照耀着我们，温暖着我们，点点滴滴照亮我们的生活。我希望世界上的每一个人都能得到永久的幸福。未来，我们的世界将没有痛苦，每个人都将拥有温暖、幸福和多彩的世界！
